Improving the Blacon Greenway
Dissecting the Blacon community is the Blacon Greenway. This former railway line is today Route 5 of the national network of Sustrans maintained cycle and foot paths. By careful clearance of overbearing trees, the planting of a more diverse range of native trees, shrubs, wildflowers and bulbs, the addition of bird and bat nesting boxes and the added feature of natural wood carvings, we have transformed the Blacon Greenway into a more welcoming, accessible and valuable community space, enjoyed by local residents and visitors.
